About this month’s speaker
Father Jack McKone, has been pastor of St. John the Apostle Parish and School in North Richland Hills since August 1, 2017. The oldest of ten, he and his siblings attended St. Rita Catholic School and Nolan Catholic High School. His social life revolved around church activities. “I didn’t know anybody that wasn’t a member of St. Rita’s, and so I thought the world was Catholic.”
When he was a child, Fr. McKone and his brother would put on bathrobes, grab their St. Joseph Missals, and play Mass. A late vocation to the priesthood, Father McKone worked in the parts and services department of local auto dealerships from 1970 to 2000. In 2002, he entered Assumption Seminarian in San Antonio and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Fort Worth on January 5, 2008. Since that time he has served at St. Matthew in Arlington, the cluster parishes of Holy Family of Nazareth, Vernon, St. Mary, Quanah, and St. Joseph Crowell; and Sacred Heart, Wichita Falls.
