Join us at our May 21 Luncheon Meeting when Rev. Jack McKone, pastor of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in North Richland Hills, will speak on making a good confession. The event is at noon at Shady Oaks Country Club, 320 Roaring Springs Rd., Westworth Village, TX 76114.

Father McKone says, "Confession is spiritual warfare. It's where you really see grace work. God's grace is almost concrete. You can see it working. It's wonderful. God’s delight is forgiving His children. You cannot get too far away from Him to be forgiven. Don’t ever doubt His power to forgive and forget our sins. It is His joy, His delight.”

About this month’s speaker

 Father Jack McKone, has been pastor of St. John the Apostle Parish and School in North Richland Hills since August 1, 2017. The oldest of ten, he and his siblings attended St. Rita Catholic School and Nolan Catholic High School. His social life revolved around church activities. “I didn’t know anybody that wasn’t a member of St. Rita’s, and so I thought the world was Catholic.”
 
When he was a child, Fr. McKone and his brother would put on bathrobes, grab their St. Joseph Missals, and play Mass. A late vocation to the priesthood, Father McKone worked in the parts and services department of local auto dealerships from 1970 to 2000. In 2002, he entered Assumption Seminary in San Antonio and was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Fort Worth on January 5, 2008. Since that time, he has served at St. Matthew in Arlington, the cluster parishes of Holy Family of Nazareth, Vernon, St. Mary, Quanah, and St. Joseph Crowell; and Sacred Heart, Wichita Falls.
