In 1997, Pope Saint John Paul II instituted a day of prayer for women and men in consecrated life. This celebration is attached to the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord on February 2nd. This Feast is also known as Candlemas Day; the day on which candles are blessed symbolizing Christ who is the light of the world. So too, those in consecrated life are called to reflect the light of Jesus Christ to all peoples. The celebration of World Day for Consecrated Life is transferred to the following Sunday in order to highlight the gift of consecrated persons for the whole Church. On the first Thursday of each month, we meet for Holy Hour from 5 to 6 p.m. at Holy Family. Dinner follows at La Madeleine on Camp Bowie Blvd.

This month's featured speaker is Fr. Jack Wall, president of Catholic Extension. Patterned after a regular Serra meeting, Serra Meets offers an online program from leading clergy and experts on the topic of Catholic vocations on the third Monday each month. Each presentation is designed to inspire you and keep you connected to the Serra mission. The monthly presentations open and close with prayer and feature notable speaker(s), followed by a Serra business topic. They are a wonderful opportunity for Serrans across the United States to come together.

Join us at Shady Oaks Country Club for an inspirational speaker on the third Wednesday of the month at noon. RSVP by 5 p.m. the Friday prior to the event.
