Prepares a list of club members who are willing to pray – preferably by attending Mass or adoration - for vocations and for specific seminarians on the same day of each month. Distributes the list on a regular basis and encourages club members to participate. Please contact Lydia Moore, 31 Club Chair to sign up for a day of the month to pray for vocations. Lydia also circulates a signup sheet at the monthly program meeting.
Assists with monthly newsletter, social media posts and updating the website. Contact Debi Holton, VP Communications to assist in one of these ideas.
Please contact Tessy Ross to assist her with coordination of the country club and other venues for monthly program meetings, retreats, seminarian dinner and priest/religious appreciation dinner. Duties may include design, printing and mailing of invitations to special dinners.
Assists with securing speakers for monthly program meetings and Lenten retreat. Ensures that we have photographs and biographies of each presenter to prepare promotional materials. Writes introductions for each speaker. Prepares thank you cards and secures a stipend from the Treasurer for each speaker. Makes reservations for the speaker's meal at each meeting. Arranges for necessary AV for each program. Arrives early to meetings to welcome presenter and sit with him/her during the luncheon. Each month members of this committee mail birthday cards to seminarians and ordination anniversary cards to all priests. As needed, they also mail cards to members who are ill, hospitalized or have lost a loved one. Sherry Schultz, Veronica Martinez and Wendy Collins are current members. Forms and supports parish vocations committees. Develops resources for parishes, including General Intercessions, bulletin announcements, Vocations cross programs, and materials for Catholic schools and religious education programs. Works with pastors to arrange presentations of recognition certificates to all altar servers in the parish. Promotes recurring annual events, such as World Day of Prayer for Vocations, Vocations Awareness Week and Priesthood Sunday. Promotes vocations discernment events, such as St. Andrew Supper, Quo Vadis, Come and See, and Vocations Awareness Program (VAP) weekend. With the club chaplain, coordinates monthly Holy Hour for Vocations and arranges for parishes to use the St. John Paul II Vocations Monstrance when it travels to our Diocese.
